I attempted to resist, but it was futile!
My mind constantly replayed that moment,
When I held you close, fingers tracing your delicate waist,
Drawing nearer to your beautifully shaped lips for a gentle kiss,
My eyes closing as I envisioned the possibilities stemming from that first touch,
And how deeply I could savor the sweetness, like honey in a pot…
Rather than distancing myself, I found myself entranced,
Longing for more than just a kiss,
Acting whimsically, sending messages to myself, pretending they were meant for you, and eagerly awaiting a response,
Showering with my phone perched on a nearby towel,
Sleeping with my phone tucked beneath my pillow, a thin thread connecting it to my ears,
Waiting for a message that only imagination hears,
I’m trapped in this fantasy, I must confess,
I’ve become completely, hopelessly obsessed!
I’ve become consumed!
Consumed by your charm,
Your touch, your words, your all I crave,
I’m helpless, your captive, your loyal slave,
I’ve tried to escape, but here I remain,
Obsession’s prisoner, in love’s sweet chain.

Lingering Mystery
Love, my dear, what’s your deal?
To those who’ve held you close,
What’s the deal, what’s the appeal?
How’s it feel, being loved, and giving it back,
Is it like a heart attack, or a comforting track?
Is love a load of hurt, or a brand new start?
Does it tear you apart, or mend every part of your heart?
Now, Love, let’s cut the chase, I want the real spiel.
Are you a riddle or just a twist of fate?
Some find your sweetness, can’t get enough, it’s great,
While others bear your burdens, want to slam the gate,
Crying rivers at your sight, feeling hearts deflated.
So, Love, what’s the deal, your essence we debate.
Do you bloom at first glance or need time to iterate?
You’re like a jigsaw puzzle, hard to navigate,
But let me ask, have you knocked at my gate?
Touched my soul’s core, or is it still up for debate?
Have I truly embraced you, Love, at any rate?
Could you explain it, maybe in my mother tongue, Luo ?
So I can grasp your essence, relate and translate,
For in your mysteries, Love, I’m caught in a bewildering state.

Wandering Flame
In the realm of youth, a brilliant spark,
Where beauty caught eyes and wits made hearts hark,
Admired by ladies, admired by all,
A mind so keen, like wisdom’s gentle call.
Approachable and kind, a soul so bright,
Yet in the realm of choices, a timid light,
Swayed by the crowd, like a leaf on a breeze,
Seeking to please, but often led astray with ease.
His upbringing, sheltered, with no worldly view,
A village boy, his horizons wide and new,
Venturing forth, embracing life’s diverse array,
Mistakes and lessons, he’d encounter on his way.
In the crucible of existence, he did reside,
With a spirit vibrant, and an undying pride,
His tongue could tame the bitter whisky’s sting,
And lips held bhang and cigarettes, a daring fling.
He ventured boldly, beyond limits, he soared,
Consuming beyond what his essence could afford,
Regrettable choices, reckless, and amiss,
Into a pit of darkness, he’d descend, a painful abyss.
But let not his story end in despair,
For in shadows, hope may yet repair,
Though he stumbled and his path was steep,
Redemption’s light may wake him from his sleep.
For he’s more than the sum of earthly things,
His potential hidden, beneath the shame that clings,
In the crucible of life, his spirit will rise,
A phoenix from the ashes, to reach for the skies.

Innocent Rebellion
Hey, Officer!
No trouble brewing in me,
Just heading home after a long bus ride,
Eight hours on that seat, oh my!
I’m not sure why I’m explaining,
I’m no outlaw, just a law-abiding soul,
Enjoying my walk to the bus stop, you see,
With a bag of clothes, nothing more, to my name.
Is it now a crime, I wonder,
To stroll Nairobi’s streets, bag in hand?
How hungry must you be, I ask,
How deep does corruption flow in your land?
How many folks have you squeezed, I ponder,
Aren’t you a tad similar to a robber with a gun?
Stealing from the innocent, where you’ve not sown,
In fact, you’re worse, supposed to protect, but you’re on the run.
You’ve asked for “kitu kidogo,” it’s true,
But I won’t grease your palm, I’ve done no wrong.
I’ll endure whatever you put me through,
For change begins with me, and it won’t take long.
I’ll be the change our country needs,
To stop the theft from innocent hands.
You’ve taken from many, sown wicked seeds,
But I’ll stand strong and make amends.
So, proceed and do what you must do

Lasting Paradox
How deeply can I grasp the closed book of life,
Its complexities entwined, its moments rife,
A paradox, like “bitter-sweet,” it’s so,
A dance of contradictions in each flow.
At times it’s bliss, at times it’s strife,
In its capriciousness, it wields a knife,
Unpredictable, in mere seconds’ sway,
From vibrant life to “the late” they say.
Is it fairness that eludes our view?
In this grand spectacle, is justice due?
Told we’re God’s children, in His plan we reside,
Yet in suffering and turmoil, we often bide.
Does the divine hand guide every twist,
Or do we navigate through the mist?
In unfortunate times, we question and delve,
Into life’s perplexing, paradoxical spell.
How much can we truly call our own,
When control is but an illusion we’ve known?
Equality we seek, but disparities thrive,
In this fabric of existence where fortunes contrive.
Some in riches, some in poverty’s grasp,
Inequality’s specter, an enduring clasp,
Yet do we remain equal, can we claim such stance,
When the scales tip wildly, in this cosmic dance?
How deeply can we unravel this textured attire,
Life’s grand design, its joy and its mire?
In wonder and bitterness, together they wreathe,
A tale of existence, where meaning we conceive.

Eternal Bonds
Falling in love with her, a journey both complicated and wonderful,
Once just friends, I hoped for more, like finding treasures in the sand.
Her youth and grace, like a softly lit stream,
Drew me closer, like a beautiful dream.
I pursued with strong feelings, with uncontrolled passion,
As if searching for stars in the vast night sky.
I did everything I could, and then came the morning,
She fell for who I am, a newfound love forming.
Our love, it soared like eagles taking flight,
Yet something was missing, casting a shadow on our light.
We grew tired, losing our way,
Longing for friendship, like a comforting ray.
In moments of darkness, doubts would arise,
Why did we dive into love’s uncertain skies?
But this was the path we had bravely chosen,
From friends to lovers, our journey unbroken.
Though friendship had been our sweetest relief,
Love became the curtains our hearts chose to weave.
With every experience etched into our being,
We sought deeper understanding, clearly seeing.
We refused to be victims of love’s twists and turns,
Hand in hand, we’d give it another chance to burn.
Exploring understanding, we traveled the distance,
Now we stand together, embracing love’s resilience.
Together we’ve matured, through challenges we’ve waltzed,
Proving that love can beautifully evolve and last.
In the end, we’re survivors of this love’s endeavor,
Living proof that it’s possible: happily ever after.

Echoes of Resilience
Hey there, it’s just me,
No expectations, no judgments, just a friendly chat, you see?
I’m here to listen as you let it all out,
Pour your heart, don’t worry, there’s no doubt.
Life’s dealt some cards, a tough hand indeed,
Gray shades surround you, making it hard to proceed.
You’re a believer, still waiting for the sun,
But lately, it feels like the battles can’t be won.
Nothing’s aligning, and that’s no lie,
The smile’s gone missing from that once hopeful eye.
Your pillow’s your confidant, soaked in your tears,
A faithful companion through all your fears.
Life’s been a challenge, a test of your might,
Your struggles equated with something exceptionally tight.
Health’s been rocky, work’s been a grind,
But hey, you say you’ll manage; that’s a hopeful sign.
The love story took a twist you didn’t expect,
She left for a gym instructor; your ego took a wreck.
That chiseled shape’s now a memory of the past,
But remember, it’s your heart that’s built to last.
Hope’s slipping away; it’s a feeling so dire,
Your path diverges from others, and that’s okay, my sire.
No need to measure success by their strife,
You’re not a laughing stock; you’re living your life.
Losing hope is tough, I get that, my friend,
But remember, even in darkness, there’s a bend.
Options aplenty, just take a deep breath,
Life’s full of surprises, even in its depth.
So chin up, my friend, through the laughter and tears,
We’ll navigate this journey, conquer our fears.
You’re stronger than you know, it’s plain to see,
You’ll find that spark, that zest, that version of “me.”

All-In-One
In your radiance, a splendor so profound,
Beauty’s finest definition, both inside and out you’re found,
Every detail of your attire, meticulously graced,
A vision of elegance, a sight to be embraced.
But beyond this allure, your intellect shines so bright,
A mind like a computer, calculating with insight,
Beauty with brains, a cliché you transcend,
You’ve got it all, my friend, there’s no need to pretend.
Your kindness, a gentle touch that warms the heart,
A wellspring of goodness, a work of art,
Not just for yourself, but the world you adorn,
With your positive grace, each day is reborn.
It may be brief, our time together, it’s true,
Yet goodness like yours, it shines right through,
In your actions and words, the love you unfurl,
You’re a gem in this world, a precious pearl.
An Earth’s caretaker, an eager soul so bright,
A heart of gold, a beacon of light,
In every role you play, you ace the test,
In my book, my dear, you’re simply the best.

Radiant love
Mother, a word imbued with cosmic grace,
A universe within two syllables,
In your embrace, it finds its truest place,
A sanctuary for hearts, a love that ripples.
Mum, a hidden blessing in life’s grand scheme,
An enigma, a treasure in plain view,
Your love’s a river, in which we dream,
An oasis of understanding, through and through.
You are the sunbeam in our stormy skies,
A heart so tender, a love so true,
With each year’s turn, let joy arise,
Infinite wishes, dear Mum, just for you.
As you grow older, like fine wine,
May life’s finest blessings be your quest,
In our hearts, you eternally shine,
Happy Birthday, Mom, you’re simply the best.

Eclipsed Desires
Behold life’s tapestry, an intricate enigma spun in words,
An oxymoron’s dance, a paradox in every phrase,
Life’s fairness, an elusive specter, gracing riches with glory,
Yet shrouding the humble in obscurity’s shamed embrace.
Why, I ask, must this chasm persist,
Why can’t we find a path, a bridge to mend,
For in the realm of true equality, I firmly stand,
Where man and woman in unity transcend.
Seek not equality where it’s needless, my friend,
But rather, let’s wage a noble battle,
Against the vast abyss that divides us so,
Where empty pockets in poverty’s grip do rattle.
Here I stand, my heart’s cry clear and bold,
Yearning not for grandeur, nor for fame,
But for the basics, the essentials of life,
To break the shackles of poverty’s cruel game.
Poverty, an unjust burden we must collectively defy,
Let’s grant the poor their rightful place,
With respect, dignity, and a world of grace,
Erase the falsehood that mocks their face.
Together, let us rise, united we’ll soar,
Against the common foe, poverty’s reign,
In unity, we’ll rewrite destiny’s lore,
And bring forth a world where all hearts regain
